Worth knowing about the 2026 MDX

  • Wipers. Rain-X lists 9x3 hook arms for the front blades, and the rear blade size is not confirmed.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The LED fog lights are fitted only to some models.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. Chains go on the front tires only with Konig XB-16 265 or Peerless Auto-Trac 232105 cables recommended, and the compact spare (T155/85D18, or T155/80R19 on Type S) comes on SH-AWD models and on others only with the optional spare kit.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 94 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Octane. The manual recommends 91 octane for full performance and allows 87. 87 will not harm the engine; the higher grade is a choice, not a requirement.
  • Fuel. The manual recommends 91 octane premium and warns that fuel below 87 octane can damage the engine.
