Worth knowing about the 2016 RDX

  • Wipers. No blade maker source confirmed the front arm type, and Rain-X lists a Rock Lock 3 arm for the rear blade.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running, front turn signal, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The H11 applies to models with fog lights.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Chains go on the front tires only, and because clearance is limited the manual recommends SCC Radial Chain TC2212MM cables, while the T165/90R17 compact spare is not on every model.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
  • Fuel. The manual recommends 91 octane premium and warns that fuel below 87 octane can damage the engine.
