Worth knowing about the 2016 A4
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a narrow push-button arm for both front blades, so choose blades listed for this model rather than by length alone.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 90 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The A4 uses wheel bolts rather than lug nuts, and the manual gives 90 ft-lb for both steel and alloy wheels.
- Roof load. The 198 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit covers rack, attachments and cargo together; the manual also rounds it to 200 lb.
- Garage fit. Allow 15.5 ft of length and 6.7 ft of width with the mirrors out.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
