Worth knowing about the 2026 Encore GX
- Tire chains. The manual restricts tire chains on this vehicle. The limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything.
- Tires. The manual forbids chains on 245/45R19 tires and allows only textile snow socks on the front of 225/55R18 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car will not pair on their own by driving; they need a relearn. Method: tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool).
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Fuel. A 1.2L Encore GX with a yellow fuel cap can also use E85.
