Worth knowing about the 2021 Camaro
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- No spare. This vehicle shipped without a spare tire; it carries an inflator and sealant kit instead. Keep the kit in date, or carry a compact spare.
- Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle; wheel-well clearance is too tight.
- Tires. There is no spare: cars on run-flat tires carry none and the others carry a tire sealant and compressor kit.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (HYQ4ES) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The smart key came in 4-, 5- and 6-button versions depending on remote start and the convertible top.
- Fuel. The 3.6L V6 takes 87 octane, the manual recommends premium for the 2.0L turbo and 6.2L V8, and the ZL1's supercharged 6.2L V8 requires at least 91 octane.
