Worth knowing about the 2024 Colorado
- Bulbs. The H11 and 9005 bulbs apply to trucks with halogen headlamps.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Chains go on the drive-axle tires only and never on the LT315/70R17, LT285/70R17, 265/60R18, 265/65R18, LT275/65R18, 255/55R20 or 275/60R20 sizes, and the spare is compact on some trims and full-size on others.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The 2023 redesign moved to the 6x139.7 pattern, so wheels from a 2015-2022 truck do not fit.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (YG0G21TB2) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Trucks with remote start carry a 4-button version of the same key.
