Worth knowing about the 2026 Colorado

  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Only the 255/65R17 size may take chains, SAE Class S or low-profile on the rear tires, and the manual forbids chains on every other factory size.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Wheels. The 2023 redesign moved to the 6x139.7 pattern, so wheels from a 2015-2022 truck do not fit.
