Worth knowing about the 2012 Impala
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. The manual lists 55 cm for the passenger blade, but blade makers fit a 21-inch blade.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car will not pair on their own by driving; they need a relearn. Method: tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool).
- Fuel. The tank holds 17.3 or 17.5 gallons depending on which of two factory tanks the car has.
