Worth knowing about the 2014 Impala
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Bulbs. One 9012 (HIR2) bulb serves the low and high beams in the base halogen headlamps; other headlamp versions are not in the manual chart.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle; wheel-well clearance is too tight.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 110 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (OHT01060512) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Cars with Keyless Access use a flip key with FCC ID OHT05918179 instead.
- Fuel. The 2.4L eAssist model has a 15.8-gallon tank.
