Worth knowing about the 2016 Malibu
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Tires. Low-profile chains may be fitted only on 16- and 17-inch tires, and depending on trim the car carries a compact spare or a tire sealant and compressor kit.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Fuel. Cars with the 2.0L turbo hold 15.8 gallons, and the manual recommends premium fuel for that engine though 87 can be used.
