Worth knowing about the 2018 Suburban
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle; wheel-well clearance is too tight.
- Tires. The manual forbids tire chains on the 18, 20 and 22-inch sizes and allows rear-axle chains only on P255/70R17, P265/70R17 or LT265/70R17 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. GM used two smart keys in these years, FCC ID HYQ1AA at 315 MHz and HYQ1EA at 433 MHz, so match the ID printed on your fob.
- Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
