Worth knowing about the 2021 Tahoe
- Wipers. The front arms use a push-button (PTB) connector, so choose blades listed for this model, and some fit guides list an 11-inch rear blade where GM specifies 12 inches.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The base-level taillamp takes replaceable stop, turn and back-up bulbs that the manual does not name; uplevel taillamps are LED.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Chains may go on the rear axle only on sizes other than 275/60R20 and 275/50R22, which the manual says lack clearance.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (YG0G21TB2) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The manual names a CR2032 but locksmith catalogs list a CR2450 for this fob, so check the cell in yours before buying.
- Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the 2WD, 18-in. wheels; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Fuel. For the 6.2L V8 the manual highly recommends 93 octane, and the 3.0L Duramax diesel uses diesel fuel.
