Worth knowing about the 2012 Town & Country
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- LED lighting. The brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Vans with HID headlamps use a D1S low-beam bulb, which the manual says to have replaced by a dealer.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
- Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S compact chains on P225/65R16 and P235/60R16 tires only, and says P225/65R17 tires do not have enough clearance.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 102 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The roof rack is optional, and the limit applies with its stowable crossbars deployed.
- Garage fit. Allow 17 ft of length and 7.4 ft of width with the mirrors out.
- Fuel. Flex-fuel equipped models can also run on E85.
