Worth knowing about the 2013 Dart

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • LED lighting. The rear turn signal, brake light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The halogen headlamp uses one HIR2 (9012) bulb for both beams; bi-xenon (D3S) headlamps are dealer-serviced.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. The manual allows traction devices on the front tires only and names the Security Chain Company Super Z6 low-profile device for 225/45R17 tires.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 95 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Fuel. Aero models hold 13.2 gallons, and the 1.4L turbo accepts 87 octane but 91 is recommended.
