Worth knowing about the 2011 Grand Caravan
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- LED lighting. The rear turn signal, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The 2011 manual lists an H13 headlamp and an LED front turn lamp, but parts catalogs list an H11 headlamp and a 3757A turn bulb for this year, so check the bulb in your lamp before buying.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S compact chains on P225/65R16 tires only, and says P225/65R17 tires do not have enough clearance; Express and Mainstreet models on 16-inch wheels are listed with either 225/65R16 or 235/60R16 tires, so check your door placard.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 102 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (IYZ-C01C) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The Fobik key comes in versions with three to seven buttons depending on power doors, liftgate and remote start, so match the buttons on your key.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit applies with the stowable crossbars deployed, and the manual says not to carry roof loads with the crossbars stowed.
- Fuel. Flex-fuel equipped models can also run on E85.
