Worth knowing about the 2012 Journey
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. The 12-inch rear blade fits an arm Rain-X calls Rock Lock 2, so buy a rear blade listed for this model.
- Bulbs. Models with LED taillamps have sealed LED stop and tail lamps with a WY21W (7440A) rear turn bulb and a W21W (7440) backup bulb, while models with bulb taillamps use a P27/7W (3157 type) for the stop, tail and backup lamps and an amber PY27/7W for the rear turn signal.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S chains on 215/65R16 tires and recommends SCC Super Z6 SZ143 or Iceman Z6 IZ-643 cables on 225/65R17 tires, and AVP and SE models are also listed with 225/70R16 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 95 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (M3N-40821302) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The key fob comes with and without a remote start button, so match the buttons on your key.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Fuel. All-wheel-drive models hold 21 gallons, and flex-fuel equipped V6 models can also run on E85.
