Worth knowing about the 2022 Bronco Sport

  • Wipers. Blade makers list anything from 22 to 24 inches for the driver side, and Rain-X lists push-button (PTB) arms, so choose blades listed for this vehicle.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, license plate, dome / map light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables, within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. Cables or chains of 10 mm or less go on the front axle only with 225/65R17 and 225/60R18 tires, never on 235/65R17.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Key fob. The flip-key remote, where fitted instead of the Intelligent Access key, takes a CR2032.
  • Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Roof. The limit drops to 100 lb on vehicles with the panoramic roof.
  • Octane. The manual recommends 91 octane for full performance and allows 87. 87 will not harm the engine; the higher grade is a choice, not a requirement.
