Worth knowing about the 2020 Edge
- Wipers. Rain-X lists an insert-and-lock arm rather than a hook, and the rear blade is Motorcraft WW-1414, whose length retailers list as 14 to 15 inches, so buy the rear blade by part number.
- LED lighting. The rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, dome / map light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Vehicles with high-intensity discharge headlamps use a D3S bulb for both beams, and vehicles with LED daytime running lamps have sealed LED units in place of the H15.
- Tires. The manual allows cables or chains of 10 mm or less on the front axle only with the optional 235/60R18 tires, and on no other size.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 162 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Retighten the lug nuts to 162 lb-ft within 100 miles after any wheel is removed, as the manual directs.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (M3N-A2C93142300) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The button count and part number vary with options such as remote start and the power liftgate.
- Roof load. The 100 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Garage fit. Allow 15.8 ft of length and 7.2 ft of width with the mirrors out.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
- Fuel. All-wheel-drive models hold 18.5 gallons.
- Battery. The manual lists Motorcraft BAGM-48H6-760.
