Worth knowing about the 2011 Escape
- Bulbs. The fog lamp bulb is the PS24WFF the manual names, sold as 5202.
- Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
- Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S cables or chains on the front axle only, with P235/70R16 or P225/65R17 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Roof load. The 100 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Fuel. The 3.0L V6 can also run on E85.
