Worth knowing about the 2026 Escape
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Ultra-low-profile cables of 10 mm or less go on the front tires only with 225/65R17 and 225/60R18 tires, never on 225/55R19.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Fuel. The tank is 15.7 gal with AWD or the 2.0L, the hybrid holds 14.3 gal and the plug-in hybrid 11.1 gal.
