Worth knowing about the 2024 F-250
- Wipers. Rain-X lists push-button (PTB) arms, so choose blades listed for this truck rather than by length alone.
- Bulbs. Codes are for low-series trucks, and higher-series trucks have sealed LED headlamps, fog lamps, turn signals and rear lamps.
- Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S chains on the rear axle only, and on no truck with LT275/65R20 or LT285/75R18 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 150 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Retighten the lug nuts to 150 lb-ft within 100 miles after any wheel is removed, as the manual directs.
- Key fob. Trucks with push-button start use an Intelligent Access key that takes one CR2450 instead.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
- Fuel. Long-box trucks on the 176-inch wheelbase hold 48 gallons, and the Power Stroke diesel version runs on diesel fuel.
