Worth knowing about the 2010 Ranger

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Bulbs. the rear stop, turn and tail lamps share one dual-filament bulb, 4157K or 3157K, and the 9007 headlamp bulb carries both low and high beam.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
  • Tires. Ford allows SAE Class S chains and recommends steel wheels with them, because chains can chip aluminum wheels.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Fuel. The tank holds 17 gallons on the short-wheelbase regular cab, 20.3 on the long-wheelbase regular cab and 19.5 on the SuperCab.
