Worth knowing about the 2019 Canyon
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a push-button (PTB) arm for this year while the manual's removal steps describe a release lever, so the connector is left blank until it is confirmed.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Chains go on the rear tires only and never on the 255/55R20, 255/65R17 all-terrain, 265/60R18, 265/65R17 and 265/70R16 sizes; sizes are matched to trims by the brochure's wheel diameters, so check the door placard.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (the manual's TPMS relearn tool, in the order LF, RF, RR, LR)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (M3N32337100) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The remote came in a 3-button version and a 4-button version with remote start.
- Fuel. A 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel was also offered and takes diesel fuel.
