Worth knowing about the 2014 Terrain
- Wipers. Rain-X lists the front arms as PTB, which no second blade maker confirmed, so the connector is left open.
- Bulbs. An auxiliary taillamp uses a 161 bulb per the manual chart.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual forbids tire chains but allows SAE Class S low-profile cables on the front tires only, never on the spare or the optional 19-inch tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 140 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (the manual's TPMS sensor matching process with a relearn tool)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (OHT01060512) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The flip key came in 3-, 4- and 5-button versions depending on remote start and power liftgate.
- Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Fuel. The 3.6L V6 holds 20.9 gallons.
