Worth knowing about the 2014 Accord

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Bulbs. Touring has sealed LED headlights, and some trims have LED brake and tail lights in place of the 7443 bulb.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Chains go on the front tires only, using the SCC cable chain the manual names for each tire size, and the compact spare is a T125/80D16.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Key fob. Match the FCC ID (MLBHLIK6-1T) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
