Worth knowing about the 2006 Civic

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Wipers. These lengths are for the sedan; the Civic Coupe takes a 28-in driver and 24-in passenger blade.
  • Bulbs. Codes are for the sedan; the Civic Coupe uses a 3457 front turn bulb and a 921 back-up bulb.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Only SAE Class S cable-type traction devices with rubber tensioners may be fitted, on the front tires only, and metal link chains must not be used.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Key fob. Match the FCC ID (N5F-S0084A) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
  • Key fob. The FCC ID and part number are for the U.S. EX remote with a trunk-release button, and the manual shows LX models with a remote that lacks it.
