Worth knowing about the 2026 HR-V

  • Wipers. The front blade connector was not confirmed by a blade maker, so check the fit guide before buying.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate, dome / map light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. Every exterior light on this HR-V is a sealed LED unit.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. The compact spare is a T135/90D17, and the manual allows cable chains on 215/60R17 tires only, not on 225/55R18.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Key fob. Match the FCC ID (KR5TP-4) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
  • Key fob. Honda fitted 4- and 5-button KR5TP-4 smart keys depending on trim.
  • Roof load. The 132 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
