Worth knowing about the 2012 Pilot
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Rear blade. The rear blade is an OEM-specific fitting (76730-SZA-A02); most aftermarket rear blades for this car are sold by that part number rather than by length.
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a 20-in passenger blade, but Honda's 525 mm blade is sold as a 21-in by Bosch, Trico and Valeo.
- Bulbs. Fog lights are on every trim except the LX, and the daytime running lights use the 9005 high-beam bulbs.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Chains go on the front tires only (SCC Super Z-6 SZ-429 recommended), and the compact spare is a T165/80D17.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 94 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (KR55WK49308) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The 165-lb limit counts the roof rack and its cargo together.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the EX, EX-L and Touring; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Dimensions. LX models sit lower, at 70.9 in tall.
- Fuel. The manual recommends 91 octane when towing more than 3,500 lb.
