Worth knowing about the 2023 Pilot
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. TrailSport carries a full-size 265/60R18 spare while other trims have a T155/85D18 compact, and chains go on the front tires only.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 94 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (KR5TP-4) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Honda fitted several KR5TP-4 smart keys by trim, with or without remote start and driver memory buttons.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The manual limits roof cargo to 165 lb on Honda's accessory roof rack.
