Worth knowing about the 2017 Elantra
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- LED lighting. The daytime running is a sealed LED unit with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Some Limited models have HID (D5S) low beams, and trims with LED taillights have sealed stop and tail lamps.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Chains (SAE Class S or wire type, wire only on aluminum wheels) go on the front tires, and cars without the T125/80D15 compact spare carry a tire mobility kit instead.
- Wheels. The manual gives wheel nut torque as a range, 79 to 94 lb-ft (11 to 13 kgf-m), rather than a single figure.
- Key fob. Non-smart-key trims came with either a flip key (FCC OKA-NO38) or a separate keyless-entry remote (FCC OSLOKA-423T), and push-button trims use a smart key, all on a CR2032.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the 2.0L automatic; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
