Worth knowing about the 2022 Tucson

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Wipers. The rear blade length was not confirmed by two blade makers for this year.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running, front turn signal are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. Trims with LED taillights have sealed stop, tail and reverse lamps.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Chains (SAE Class S or wire type, wire only on aluminum wheels) go on the front tires or all four on AWD models, 235/55R19 tires take fabric-type chains only, and cars without the T135/90D17 compact spare carry a tire mobility kit instead.
  • Wheels. The manual gives wheel nut torque as a range, 79 to 94 lb-ft (11 to 13 kgf-m), rather than a single figure.
  • Key fob. Some 2022 flip keys are listed as FCC TQ8-RKE-4F40 and others as TQ8-RKE-4F43, and push-button trims use a smart key that also takes a CR2032.
  • Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
