Worth knowing about the 2020 Q50

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries run-flat tires and no spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. Class S chains go on the rear wheels only and never on the 265/35R19 rear tires, and every factory tire is a run-flat with no spare listed.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 80 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
  • Dimensions. AWD models stand 57.2 in tall, and a front license plate adds about 0.5 in.
  • Octane. Premium (91 octane) is required, not recommended; the manual says so.
  • Fuel. The manual recommends 93 octane for full performance and allows 87 only temporarily, with a partial fill and no full throttle.
