Worth knowing about the 2017 QX60
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a snap-claw arm for the 12 in rear blade.
- LED lighting. The fog light, daytime running, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Headlights built as the manual's type B use a WY21W front turn bulb instead of the 7444NA.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Class S chains go on the front wheels and fit only the 235/65R18 tires, never the 235/55R20 tires, and the compact spare is a T165/90D18.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 83 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The manual limits the load on the cross bars, where fitted, to 150 lb.
- Dimensions. Height rises to 71.4 in with the roof rack fitted.
- Octane. The manual requires 87 octane and recommends 91 for full performance. Regular will not harm the engine; premium is a choice, not a requirement.
