Worth knowing about the 2020 Cherokee
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a Rock Lock 2 arm for the rear blade.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The manual prints W21W for the 7440 reversing bulb.
- Tires. The manual allows reduced-size chains on the front tires only and only on non-original sizes (215/60R17 on 17x7 wheels for most models, 225/65R17 on 17x7.5 wheels for the Trailhawk), except that 4x4 models with the two-speed power transfer unit may chain their 225/65R17 and 225/60R18 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Check the lug nut torque again after 25 miles, as the manual directs.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (GQ4-54T) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Key sellers list four- and five-button versions of the fob under part numbers beginning 68105078.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. Crossbars must be used whenever cargo is carried on the luggage rack.
- Fuel. The manual says 91-octane premium gives the 2.0L turbo its best performance, while the 2.4L and 3.2L gain nothing from premium.
