Worth knowing about the 2024 Compass
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a Rock Lock 2 arm for the rear blade.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Codes are for base lamps (Premium models have sealed LED front turn signals, fog lamps and tail lamps), base tail lamps take W21/5W bulbs for tail, brake and turn, and the manual prints W21W for the 7440 reversing bulb.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. Check the lug nut torque again after 25 miles, as the manual directs.
- Key fob. Key sellers list a proximity smart key with FCC ID M3N-40821302 in three-, four- and five-button versions, so match the ID on your key.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. Crossbars must be used whenever cargo is carried on the luggage rack.
- Fuel. The manual says 91-octane premium gives the 2.0L turbo its best performance.
