Worth knowing about the 2024 Grand Cherokee
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Every exterior lamp is a sealed LED unit that a dealer replaces.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows Class S chains on the rear 245/70R17, 265/60R18 and 265/50R20 tires, and only 12 mm devices on the 21-inch tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 130 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Locksmith listings for 2024-on fobs name a different FCC ID, which no second source confirms yet.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Fuel. The 4xe plug-in hybrid holds 19 gallons, and the 5.7-liter V8 recommends 89 octane.
