Worth knowing about the 2012 Liberty
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Aftermarket listings disagree on the rear blade length, so it is left out.
- Bulbs. The H13 (9008) is one dual-filament bulb for both low and high beam, and the center high-mounted stop lamp is a dealer-serviced LED.
- Tire chains. The manual permits tire chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), within limits on which tires and which wheels. Those limits are in the next note; read them before you fit anything. Search Amazon for tire chains →
- Tires. The manual allows only SAE Class S chains, on the rear tires and only on P225/75R16 or smaller tires, and the Liberty came with either a compact or a full-size spare.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 95 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. Height is with the roof rack.
