Worth knowing about the 2012 Patriot

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Wipers. The rear blade is a Mopar-specific part (68003723AA) and aftermarket listings disagree on its length, so it is left out.
  • Bulbs. The H13 is one dual-filament bulb for both low and high beam, and the center high-mounted stop lamp is a dealer-serviced LED.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tires. The P215/65R17 all-terrain tire comes with the Freedom Drive II Off-Road Package, and the manual says tire chains are not recommended because of limited clearance.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 100 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • Roof load. The 150 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the 2WD; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
  • Dimensions. 4x4 models stand 66.8 inches tall.
  • Fuel. 4WD models hold 13.5 gallons.
