Worth knowing about the 2022 K5
- Wipers. Rain-X lists 9x3 hook arms for both front blades.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, front turn signal are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The tail lamp code applies to bulb-type taillamps; LED taillamps are sealed units.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The compact spare is a T125/80D16, or a T135/80D18 on the GT, and the manual forbids chains on aluminum wheels but allows wire-type chains on the front tires if they cannot be avoided.
- Wheels. The owner's manual gives the wheel nut torque as a range, 79 to 94 lb-ft (107 to 127 Nm), rather than a single figure.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (CQOTD00660) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. The LXS and higher trims have a smart key instead, FCC ID CQOFD00790 (95440-L3430).
- Dimensions. GVWR is for front-wheel drive; all-wheel-drive models are rated 4,497 lb and the GT 4,564 lb.
- Fuel. Kia lists a 14.8-gallon tank for the LX.
