Worth knowing about the 2024 Niro
- Wipers. Rain-X lists 9x3 hook arms for both front blades.
- LED lighting. The fog light, daytime running, front turn signal, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. These are the manual's codes for the halogen headlamps and bulb-type lower rear lamps; LED versions are sealed units.
- No spare. This vehicle shipped without a spare tire; it carries an inflator and sealant kit instead. Keep the kit in date, or carry a compact spare. Inflator kits on Amazon →
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. A tire mobility kit is standard, and the manual calls for SAE Class S chains on the front tires only, allows wire-type chains only on 16-inch tires and forbids chains on aluminum wheels.
- Wheels. The owner's manual gives the wheel nut torque as a range, 79 to 94 lb-ft (107 to 127 Nm), rather than a single figure.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (CQOTG00520) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. EX and higher trims have a push-button smart key instead, FCC ID FD01330 (95440-AT000).
- Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. Figures are for the hybrid; the plug-in hybrid's GVWR is 4,497 lb.
- Fuel. Figures are for the hybrid; the plug-in hybrid has a 9.8-gallon tank.
