Worth knowing about the 2019 Optima
- Wipers. Rain-X lists 9x3 hook arms for both front blades.
- LED lighting. The daytime running is a sealed LED unit with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Headlamp and taillamp codes are for halogen, bulb-type lamps; LED headlamps and taillamps are sealed units.

- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Most trims carry a tire mobility kit and the SX a compact spare, and the manual calls for SAE Class S chains on the front tires only and forbids chains on aluminum wheels.
- Wheels. The owner's manual gives the wheel nut torque as a range, 79 to 94 lb-ft (107 to 127 Nm), rather than a single figure.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (SY5JFRGE04) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. EX and higher trims have a push-button smart key instead.
