Worth knowing about the 2013 RX
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a Toyota-type rear arm, so choose a rear blade listed for this model.
- LED lighting. The daytime running, brake light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. Models with LED headlights use an H9 high-beam bulb, and HID models a D4S low-beam bulb.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only, and the manual lists either a T165/90D18 compact spare or a full-size spare depending on the model.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 76 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool (new sensor ID codes are registered by a Lexus dealer; after a pressure change, initialize with the TPMS reset procedure)); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (HYQ14ACX) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit applies to the roof luggage carrier on vehicles with roof rails.
- Dimensions. Height is 66.3 in. without roof rails or roof antenna and 67.9 in. with roof rails.
- Fuel. The RX 450h hybrid holds 17.1 gal and takes 91 octane.
