Worth knowing about the 2024 RX
- Wipers. Rain-X lists a Toyota-type rear arm, so choose a rear blade listed for this model.
- LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, fog light, daytime running, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light, license plate are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
- Bulbs. The WY21W front turn bulb applies to models with bulb-type front turn signals; the others use sealed LED units.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Tire chains go on the front tires only, and the compact spare is a T165/90D18 or T165/70D20.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 103 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. This generation uses wheel bolts rather than lug nuts.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (HYQ14FLC) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Locksmith catalogs also list an HYQ14FLD four-button smart key for these years, so match the FCC ID printed on the old key.
- Roof load. The 154 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The limit applies to the roof luggage carrier on vehicles with roof rails.
- Octane. Premium (91 octane) is required, not recommended; the manual says so.
