Worth knowing about the 2015 C-Class
- Connector. Both front blades use a oem-specific connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables, on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. Chains go in pairs on the rear wheels only and not on every wheel and tire combination; 18-in and 19-in options use wider rear tires (225/45R18 front with 245/40R18 rear, and 225/40R19 front with 245/35R19 or 255/35R19 rear).
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 96 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The C-Class uses wheel bolts rather than lug nuts, tightened in a crosswise pattern.
- Roof load. The 165 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Garage fit. Allow 15.4 ft of length and 6.7 ft of width with the mirrors out.
- Dimensions. 4MATIC models have a larger turning circle of about 37.4 to 37.6 ft.
- Octane. Premium (91 octane) is required, not recommended; the manual says so.
- Fuel. The manual calls for premium and allows regular only as a temporary measure (88 AKI on the C 300 4MATIC, 87 AKI otherwise), filling no more than half the tank and avoiding full throttle.
