Worth knowing about the 2016 E-Class
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 96 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Wheels. The E-Class uses wheel bolts rather than lug nuts, tightened in a crosswise pattern.
- Roof load. The 220 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the Sedan; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Garage fit. Allow 16.1 ft of length and 6.8 ft of width with the mirrors out.
- Dimensions. 4MATIC sedans have a larger turning circle of about 37.7 ft.
- Octane. Premium (91 octane) is required, not recommended; the manual says so.
