Worth knowing about the 2012 Outlander Sport

  • Wipers. Rain-X lists a 20-inch passenger blade while blade makers on RockAuto list 21 inches, so the passenger length is left open.
  • LED lighting. The brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The H11 low beam is for halogen headlights (some trims have HID), and the fog bulb is an H8 or H11 depending on the lamp type.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare, size T155/90D16. Search Amazon for spare tires →
  • Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle.
  • Wheels. The manual gives wheel nut torque as a range, 65 to 80 lb-ft (88 to 108 N-m), rather than a single figure.
  • Key fob. The F.A.S.T. smart key takes a CR1620 instead.
  • Roof load. The 176 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Dimensions. Height is 64.6 inches with roof rails.
  • Fuel. All-wheel-drive models hold 15.8 gallons.
