Worth knowing about the 2018 Outlander

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Wipers. The 12-inch rear blade fits Mitsubishi's own Rock Lock 3 arm, so buy one listed for this model.
  • LED lighting. The daytime running, brake light, tail light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Bulbs. The H7, H16 codes are for halogen lamps; cars with LED headlights and fog lights have sealed units.
  • Spare. This vehicle carries a compact (temporary) spare.
  • Tire chains. The manual says not to fit tire chains on this vehicle.
  • Tires. The compact spare is a T155/90D16 or a T155/80D17.
  • Wheels. The manual gives wheel nut torque as a range, 65 to 80 lb-ft (88 to 108 N-m), rather than a single figure.
  • Key fob. The F.A.S.T. smart key takes a CR1620 instead.
  • Roof load. The 110 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the 2.4L FWD; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
  • Dimensions. The 3.0L V6 GT has a 5,005 lb GVWR.
  • Fuel. All-wheel-drive models hold 15.8 gallons, and the manual recommends premium for the 3.0L V6.
