Worth knowing about the 2018 Frontier
- Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
- Bulbs. The single HB5 headlight bulb serves low and high beam, and the rear turn bulb is an amber 3156.
- Spare. This vehicle carries a full-size spare.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S chains on the rear wheels only, on any of the factory tire sizes.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 98 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
- Key fob. Match the FCC ID (CWTWB1U415) printed on the back of your fob when buying a replacement; the same car can use two fob designs in one year. A new fob still needs programming to the car.
- Key fob. Locksmith catalogs also list FCC IDs CWTWB1U733 and CWTWB1U821 for this three-button remote, which spec sheets show from the SV grade up.
- Roof load. The 125 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
- Roof. The factory roof rack with adjustable crossbars came only on the PRO-4X.
- Dimensions. The figures above are for the Crew Cab short bed; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
- Dimensions. Height is without the roof rack; a PRO-4X with the rack stands 73.9 inches.
