Worth knowing about the 2026 Kicks

  • Connector. Both front blades use a j-hook connector. A blade of the right length with the wrong connector will not clip on, so check the connector before you buy.
  • Wipers. The rear blade length is not confirmed.
  • LED lighting. The low beam, high beam, daytime running, front turn signal, rear turn signal, brake light, tail light, reverse light are sealed LED units with no user-replaceable bulb. A failure means replacing the assembly.
  • Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
  • Tires. The manual allows SAE Class S chains without naming a tire size, and a car carries either a T145/80D17 or T155/80D17 compact spare or a tire repair kit.
  • Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 83 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
  • TPMS. New sensors on this car need a relearn (tool); they will not pair on their own by driving.
  • Roof load. The 110 lb roof limit is the dynamic figure for driving and includes the rack itself. It is not a limit for a rooftop tent when parked; the manual gives no static figure.
  • Roof. The limit applies to accessory cross bars on the roof side rails, which not every model has.
  • Dimensions. The figures above are for the FWD; other body configurations differ in length, wheelbase and weight.
  • Fuel. AWD models hold 12.4 gallons.
