Worth knowing about the 2017 1500
- Bulbs. Vertical fog lamps take a 9006, premium projector headlamps use a 9005 low beam, and premium LED tail and turn lamps are sealed units.
- Tire chains. The manual permits chains or cables of SAE Class S (low clearance), on the drive wheels only, fitted to the standard tire size. Chains for this size on Amazon →
- Tires. The manual allows Class S chains on the rear tires only, and only on P265/70R17 tires.
- Torque. Tighten lug nuts to 130 ft-lbs in a star pattern with a torque wrench, and re-check after the first 50 miles. This figure is from the owner's manual; an impact gun will overshoot it.
- Key fob. Trucks came with a FOBIK key (FCC ID IYZ-C01C), a remote (GQ4-53T) or a proximity smart key (GQ4-54T), so match the fob in hand.
- Fuel. A 32-gallon tank is optional, and the 5.7-liter HEMI recommends 89 octane with 87 acceptable.
